Workshop Description:

  • Communities of Faith and Follow-Through (CF&F) will provide participants an opportunity to reflect on the Spiritual Process of the TEC Movement and the important roles of the Adult Faith Community in TEC. Prior to the TEC weekend, the faith community prepares itself as an evangelizing community through their living witness of Paschal Mystery spirituality. Following the TEC weekend, the community ministers to youth and young adults by connecting them to further possibilities for ministry, spiritual companionship, and support for living as a disciple of Jesus Christ. TEC seeks to build partnerships with others in youth/young adult ministry and the larger Church. The workshop is designed in a ‘retreat’ format to invite participants to reflect more deeply on their life of shared faith, quality of presence, and skills for ministry.

Goals of the Workshop:

  • To empower TEC leaders to become reflective and discerning leaders, not just doing leaders.

  • To call those involved as leaders of TEC to a deeper personal and communal conversion, thus building or strengthening local adult faith communities.

  • To move TEC leaders and communities toward more effective ministry with youth and young adults.

  • To share a vision for Post-TEC weekend follow-through.

Who Should Attend:

  • TEC leaders/councils who wish to strengthen TEC and their local adult faith communities.

  • Parish/diocesan leaders and TEC spiritual directors who are in a position to provide ongoing formation and guidance to TEC Communities.

  • People who seek deeper formation and understanding in effectively mentoring youth and young adults through the TEC process.

"Above all, the Gospel must be proclaimed by witness. Take a Christian or a handful of Christians, who in the midst of their own community, show their capacity for understanding and acceptance, their sharing of life and destiny with other people, their solidarity with the efforts of all for whatever is noble and good. Let us suppose that, in addition, they radiate in an altogether simple and unaffected way their faith in values that go beyond current values, and their hope in something not seen and that one would not dare to imagine. Through this wordless witness these Christians stir up irresistible questions in the hearts of those who see how they live. Here we have the initial act of evangelization."

~ Pope Paul VI, Evangelization in the Modern World
