The TEC Conference was pleased to award two TEC communities with the 2018 Gereke Grant! Named for TEC co-founder Dorothy Gereke, this $1,000 grant is available to affiliated TEC communities to use for worthy projects. Since the donor-funded grant was established in 2013, the TEC Conference has given away $13,000 to deserving TEC communities.
TEC of Central Texas (Diocese of Austin, TX) received one of the two 2018 Gereke Grants and will use their grant money to help fund their “Outreach Marketing Campaign.” Members of their outreach ministry team will distribute promotional materials and items purchased with the grant money to help advertise TEC throughout their diocese. Their goal is to raise retreat attendance through their energetic promotions, which will help TEC of Central Texas to become a more self-sufficient program.
Dodge City TEC (Diocese of Dodge City, KS) received the second 2018 Gereke Grant. Their TEC center is restructuring and finding new footing in their diocese with the support of their bishop. They plan to use their funds to purchase supplies needed for TEC weekends and to offset facility costs.
