2019 Gereke Grant Winners

Jan 29, 2020

Congratulations to Southwestern Indiana TEC (SWITEC) and Pathways TEC, the two winners of the 2019 Gereke Grant! This $1,000 grant, named for TEC co-founder Dorothy Gereke, is available to affiliated TEC communities with worthy projects in need of funding and is made possible by the generosity of donors. Since this grant was established in 2013, the TEC Conference has awarded $15,000 to deserving TEC centers.

SWITEC (Diocese of Evansville, IN) received one of the two available 2019 Gereke Grants and will use their grant money to fund a video project for their TEC center. They hope to increase attendance on their weekends by promoting TEC with a professionally made video that will advertise their community. This will increase SWITEC’s visibility across the diocese and drive interest in the program.

Pathways TEC (Diocese of Winona-Rochester, MN) received the second 2019 Gereke Grant. They will use their grant money to purchase much-needed supplies for their TEC community, including liturgical supplies for the Masses during their weekends. Because they no longer receive funding from their diocese, Pathways TEC also plans to purchase supplies needed for retreat team formation and items for the TEC weekends. This will take the burden off of volunteers to bring their own materials and supplies.

Pathways TEC

We are continually humbled by the generous donors who provide for this grant, which in turn provides for the good of TEC by helping local communities achieve their projects. If you would like to help fund the Gereke Grant by donating either $20/month or making a one-time donation of $240, contact billy@tecconference.org.
