2020 Gereke Grant Applications Open

Oct 19, 2020

The 2020 Gereke Grant is now open for applications! This grant is named for Dorothy Gereke, one of the co-founders of the TEC movement, who was instrumental in supporting both the spiritual and physical needs of the first TEC center. Each year, the TEC Conference honors her memory by providing for similar needs for today’s TEC communities.

Normally, the Conference awards at least one $1,000. This year, TEC centers are invited to apply for grants for any amount—from as little as $100 and up to $1,000. A strong grant application describes a project with a meaningful effect that will strengthen its community for years to come. The Gereke Grant may be used to purchase needed equipment, make repairs, advertise TEC, act as seed money for an event/fundraiser, defray the cost of group attendance at TEC Encounter, fund a workshop or community renewal experience… or any other worthy cause!

Applications are due back to the TEC Conference by December 31, 2020. All TEC communities received the application via email, but digital copies can be found on the TEC Conference website. (Go to the "Get Involved" drop down menu, select "TEC Community Resources," and click the "Gereke Grant" tab.)

Applications are reviewed by a committee that does not consist of Conference employees or members of applicant TEC communities. If you have any questions regarding the grant or application, or if you would like to be a donor and help fund this grant, please contact Billy at billy@tecconference.org or call the office at 504-227-3233. The committee looks forward to receiving your applications and awarding as many grants as possible!
