Today's Gospel reading says, "After this the Lord appointed seventy[-two]* others whom he sent ahead of him in pairs to every town and place he intended to visit. He said to them: The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” (Luke 10:1-2)
The harvest is abundant and the laborers are few. The TEC Conference is blessed to have so many faithful supporters who donate their time, talent, and treasure for the harvest. This Gospel tells us that we should ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest, so we pray today that God will move the hearts of everyone who sees this to continue to support the TEC Conference through our 2019 Annual Harvest Campaign. Jesus sent them out two by two because none of us can do this ministry on our own. We need the support of each other.
We are all sent to serve, and the TEC Conference is responding to that mission. More than 40 TEC communities around the world share Christ's love with older teens and young adults, and we need your help as we reach out in service. The TEC Conference strives every day to bring resources and support to these TEC communities.
I invite you to reflect on the ways that you personally feel sent to serve Christ and his Church, particularly through TEC. Please prayerfully consider making a tax-deductible gift of $50 or whatever you feel called to give. Your gift enables us to serve the entire TEC family more effectively. To make a donation, no matter how small, click here or send your gift to our address which can be found here. On behalf of the young Church, I thank you for the countless ways that you bear witness to Christ by the way you serve others.
