Winter 2022 Leadership Council Meeting Review

Jan 20, 2022

TEC’s Leadership Council meets twice annually in person: during the winter and during the summer right before TEC Encounter. This year’s winter meeting took place in Covington, LA, from January 15-16, 2022. The agenda covered:

  • Executive Director report and annual goals
  • TEC center community reports
  • Affirmation of new ministry team charters
  • Presentation on intergenerational communication challenges led by Timmy McCaffery
  • Spiritual formation centered on St. Therese, patroness of TEC, led by Colin MacIver
  • Open discussion on the upcoming revision of Section 8 in the manual
  • Review and affirmation of 2022-2023 budget

Because of the difficulty of traveling during a pandemic, the meeting included both in-person and virtual participants who were present via Zoom. Those who traveled in-person enjoyed local seafood and southern hospitality. They also visited the local TEC New Orleans retreat center, Rosaryville. There, Executive Director Billy O’Regan was able to introduce the Council to a large group of TEC friends from his own TEC community!

The meeting closed with a presentation of a wheat cross to Vice Chair Troy Jacobson, whose term on the Council has come to an end, and with special thanks to virtual participants Michelle LaScala (Secretary) and David Walker (Executive Team Member), whose terms have also ended. We thank these three for their many years of service on the Executive Team and Council!

Next up, the Council will meet by video conference for their regular spring call in March, followed by their next in-person meeting in July at the start of Encounter 2022 in Champaign, IL. As always, we thank the Council for their time, prayers, insights, and work they do for the TEC movement!

Virtual participants smile over Zoom!
