The Gereke Fund is named for Dorothy Gereke, one of the co-founders of the TEC Movement, who was instrumental in supporting the spiritual and practical needs of the first TEC center. To honor her memory, her provision for TEC centers, and her love of traveling, the Gereke Fund has two distinct divisions: (1) the Gereke Grant and (2) the Enrichment Exchange.
Affiliated communities may apply for a Gereke Grant, which is awarded for worthy projects in need of funding. Communities may apply for varying amounts of funds, from as little as $100 and up to $1,000.
The Enrichment Exchange allows individuals to apply to travel and visit another TEC community with travel funds reimbursable up to $500. Both the visitor and the host community will see benefits from this award.
2024 Gereke Fund applications are currently OPEN. All applications are due December 31, 2024. A selection committee will review applications in January and announce winners in February. The committee may choose to provide Gereke Grant(s) AND/OR Enrichment Exchange(s) as funds allow.
This grant is funded by donors like you. The generosity of our donors has allowed us to offer more than one grant every year since its establishment. If you would like to make a one-time donation of $240, or monthly gifts of $20, please contact Billy O’Regan at 504-227-3233.
Gereke Grant
Leaders from TEC communities affiliated with the TEC Conference may submit an application for a 2024 Gereke Grant anytime before December 31, 2024. A selection committee will review applications in January 2025. The selection committee will determine if a Gereke Grant, Enrichment Exchange, or both will be awarded each year. For Gereke Grants, the amount awarded will be at the discretion of the selection committee. Communities may apply for grant funds anywhere from $100 to $1,000. Grant funds may not be distributed to individuals and must be used for the project described in the application.
Gereke Grants are intended to benefit and strengthen affiliated TEC communities. A strong grant application demonstrates with specificity how funds will be used to benefit and strengthen that TEC center. Appropriate uses include but are not limited to: leadership formation, TEC manual study, Conference-sponsored workshops, community gatherings, or the purchase of needed resources.
Enrichment Exchange
Individuals may apply for Enrichment Exchange awards with the goal of traveling to visit another TEC community. This visit may include working a weekend, participating in a board meeting, or another activity as described in the application. The award will reimburse travel funds up to $500.
Enrichment Exchanges are meant to benefit both the visitor and the host TEC community. Please be sure to read through the information sheet for full details.
If you have any questions about either of the applications, please do not hesitate to call or email the TEC Conference office.

A workshop designed to assist present and future TEC leaders in the effective implementation of the TEC Conference Manual, maintaining the principles upon which the movement was founded.
A workshop that focuses upon the critically important roles of the Spiritual Directors of both the TEC community as well as the TEC weekend itself. These workshops are open to clergy, religious, and lay persons alike, recognizing that the spiritual leaders of TEC communities are called from multiple vocations.
Our most recent Spiritual Directors' Workshop took place in St. Louis, MO, in 2019.
A workshop designed to assist local communities in developing successful pre-TEC and post-TEC practices-- namely, a cohesive and well-formed community into which the TEC weekend itself is situated. Ideally, it is the welcoming and nurturing community that invites the TEC candidate to experience the weekend and supports the candidate afterwards.
A workshop designed to reinforce the central spirituality of the weekend (Paschal Mystery spirituality), strengthen team preparation, and increase awareness of the importance of the TEC community in giving weekends. The workshop also assists in unifying and preparing a team in giving a TEC weekend, showing how to improve discerning the gifts of TEC community members for the good of all.
In addition to the standard workshops described above, the TEC Conference routinely formulates custom workshops with focused content, shorter duration, and fewer presenters to better serve the specific needs of one or more TEC communities. In addition, the Conference is currently training experienced TEC leaders as part of an official Speakers’ Bureau to supplement and support workshop teams and speaking engagements.
